In 1996, twenty years after the launch of the original Nautilus, Patek Philippe unveiled a version of this now-iconic watch that marked an aesthetic departure from the original. It featured Roman numerals instead of stick indices and a dial without its famous horizontal grooves. Simultaneously, it released this watch, the 5060J, which went one step further by pairing it with a leather strap and removing the two protruding ears that gives the Nautilus its distinctive shape. Although initially considered part of the Nautilus family, this watch became the archetype for a completely new series—the Aquanaut—and is therefore considered a transitional model. The sportier stainless-steel Aquanaut 5060A, with the now signature textured dial and rubber strap, arrived a year later.
This Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5060J has a black roman numeral dial and a leather strap. This Patek Philippe has undergone a thorough inspection of accuracy, functionality and condition to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards.
